NFG/Dashboard Confessional Unplugged @ Troubadour

ChrisCarabbaLast night was the opening of the Dashboard Confessional Unplugged tour with New Found Glory as the opener at the famous Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA. It was a sold out show to a crowd of teenyboppers, twenty-somethings, and even some adults.

New Found Glory entered the stage all wearing black tuxedo shirts covering their arms of tattoos. Singer Chad Gilbert proved to be a little rusty due to his lack of rehearsal time due to a family emergency, but still swept the fans off their feet. They played an hour set list with some of the fan favorite songs including “Sonny,” “It’s Not Your Fault,” and “My Friends Over You.” They surprised the audience when they played the song “Boulders,” which they’ve never played live before.

After 45 minutes of setup, Dashboard Confessional finally took the stage for a 2 hour set list (that he let the audience decide) featuring over 20 songs. The crowd sang along to every single one of the songs and proved that the entire house was comprised of his biggest fans. During the set he handed out egg shakers to everyone in the audience for everyone to participate in playing the next song with him. After the show, he stayed out by the merch table to take pictures and sign autographs with his fans. His composed style and swooning lyrics made this show a success and left all fans wanting more.
