Walt Disney’s Nephew Roy Disney Passes on at 79
Fox News reports that Roy Edward Disney who was the nephew of Walt Disney has died at 79 after a battle with cancer. In the past he led shareholder revolts more than once that led to a major shake up in the family business. In 1984 he lead a campaign to out Walt Disney’s son-in-law after he started leading the company in the wrong direction.
With his fortunes he bought a castle in Ireland and pursued his passion for yacht racing. In 2005 he pledged $10 million to create the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center in Burbank.
