Oliver Stone comes back to “Wall Street”

Oliver Stone shares his thoughts on his upcoming movie “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.”

Stone was the son of a stockbroker, so money was not something unfamiliar to him. USAToday reports that he states, “In my father’s world, making a million was a ton…I come back to Wall Street now, and it’s not a million dollars. It’s a billion dollars. And a billion is nothing. They don’t even consider that the beginning of a hedge fund. That is what is amazing about the ’90s and 2000s — how rich people got. But it is a weird kind of rich. Maybe a superficial rich.” Originally Stone had passed on the script, but when they presented him with a new version following the economic crash, it suddenly drew his attention. The dynamic between three generations of power all clashing at each other over something that can’t buy happiness attracted Stone.
