Did Angelina Jolie just pass on Wanted 2?

Sources are reporting that Angelina Jolie has turned down the offer to participate in a second installment of the Wanted series. Since she has denied the request, the studio plans to just ditch the entire idea rather than try casting a new lead role or focus on lead James McAvoy. Director Timur Bekmambetov has stated what a high level he put the first movie on and topping it would be a tall challenge, but co-creator Mark Millar had expressed that the scope of this film would be greatly increased. Also, earlier this month Millar had indicated that the Wanted 2 script was almost done.
