Top Celebs not among Oscar voters

It has come to the attention that many of the top celebrities are not Oscar voters. Those included are Taylor Lautner, Woody Allen, George Lucas, Rupert Murdoch, Pedro Almodovar, and Sascha Baron Cohen among others. Even top heads of studios are missing from the list such as NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker. Invitations to join the list are handed out in June only after two members “sponsor” a person and follow up on the invite.

Many times Oscar nominees of that year are thrown into the pile, but it doesn’t mean that they have an automatic approval. The Academy takes into account their body of work as well as reference letters that have to be approved by multiple eyes to pass. Ellen Page, who was nominated in the past didn’t get an invite, but fellow actresses Anne Hathaway and Viola Davis did. Kimberly Roush, Academy’s director of membership, told Tags: , , , , , , , ,

    I want Taylor Lautner to vote, he will after all his upcoming movies
