Lil Wayne finally makes it to prison for a 1 year sentence

Lil Wayne has managed to avoid going to jail twice now with both dates being pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances (he needed dental work done and then a fire erupted in courthouse), but his luck is finally up. He has officially turned himself into authorities today to begin his year long sentence. MTV has stated that a riot almost broke out outside the Manhattan Criminal Court Building as he was going to enter.

The rapper will serve his sentence in city jails rather than a state prison. If he cooperates with the officials inside, he could get his sentence moved up to 8 months. He doesn’t plan to put a hold on his music and has told Billboard that he will “be still rapping in there, have a gang of raps ready when I come back home.”

Finally. Actually, now that he says he’s still going to be writing in jail I’m sure that whatever he turns out will be better than anything he’s done so far
