Leonardo DiCaprio honored by TAG Heuer for 150th Anniversary

TAG Heuer has kicked off their 150th anniversary with an invitation-only event to honor actor and climate change activist Leonardo DiCaprio for his “dedication to saving the environment.” DiCaprio has been a fundamental part of the TAG Heuer company and has an ongoing partnership that benefits NRDC and Green Cross International.

The party serves as a launch to the Odyssey of Pioneers which is a traveling roadshow that will showcase TAG Heuer’s finest timepieces of the past, present and future, and will travel to 15 cities starting this month and running until October 2010. The tour will be led by the new TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster and will be the first round-the-world tour by a zero-emission GT car through 24,000 miles, six months, 15 stops, and showcasing 18 watches.

DiCaprio stated, “I am excited to be here to celebrate TAG’s 150th birthday. I am proud to be associated with a company that not only has a rich and storied history, but also understand the importance of doing good in the world. Our partnership, which enables people to buy a quality timepiece and help save the planet at the same time, is a model I hope other brands will follow.”
