Chris Evans to play “Captain America”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Evans has accepted the role to play Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America. Sources have stated that he has not only accepted the offer (a low-ball $300,000 salary), but the deal is moving so fast that the only thing left is to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. Evans was offered the role last week, but it was unsure if he would accept the offer.

Evans played the role of Johnny Storm in Fox’s “Fantastic Four,” so super hero roles are no stranger to him. The only doubt was if he was going to think that taking another super hero role would type cast him and make it difficult for other jobs in the future.
