Exclusive video: Neil Marshall at the SXSW premiere of ‘Centurion’
BY TODD GILCHRIST
Among the many films that debuted at last week’s South By Southwest Film and Music Festival, Neil Marshall’s premiere of Centurion was among the festival’s worst-kept secrets. As expected, the film went over like gangbusters to a genre-loving crowd at the storied Alamo Drafthouse, thanks in no small part to the efforts of folks like Ain’t It Cool News’ Harry Knowles championing the historical epic.
Immediately following the premiere screening, however, Knowles moderated a question and answer session with Marshall, where he talked publicly about Centurion for the first time. Click on the links below for exclusive video footage of that session, where Marshall talks about his inspirations making the swords-and-sandals opus, and discusses his appetite for formidable female characters. The film is being released later this spring by 300 distributor Warner Brothers, but check out our video to get a first look at what the film is all about!
