Bradley Cooper thriller nabs co-star

Bradley Cooper’s “Dark Fields” just got a little brighter.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Hangover” star will be joined by “Land of the Lost” beauty Anna Friel for Neil Burger’s “Dark Fields,” . In the film, Cooper plays a failed writer (Cooper) who stumbles on a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes people smarter. He tries the drug and experiences near-instant success. But his decision isn’t without consequence, and soon he is being pursued.

Friel will play Cooper’s ex-wife in the thriller. Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish already have been cast.

IMDB lists “Dark Fields” as “filming,” with an announced release date of March 18, 2011. The site also lists Cooper’s next project as Susanne Bier’s “Which Brings Me to You,” a modern love story co-starring Natalie Portman and Kate Winslet. No word on whether Cooper still has time to film his parts in Bier’s film before he has to move on to the “Hangover” sequel, which was finalized last week.
