Alicia Keys to be “American Idol” mentor
With the recent announcement of Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens out from the competition, the stakes are getting higher on our favorite show, “American Idol.” This past week we saw Adam Lambert mentor the Idols, being the first “Idol” contestant to come back to give them tips. The following night he sang his hit single “Whataya Want From Me,” which is just starting to break into the top 10 now. Now the news has broken that singer Alicia Keys will serve as next week’s mentor to the contestants.
MTV reports that she will be mentoring them on “inspirational” songs and then will perform a song on the “Idol Gives Back” episode. Other top performers that will join her on stage for the show are Elton John, Carrie Underwood, the Black Eyed Peas, Annie Lennox, and Jeff Beck. The show will aim to raise money for the Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs, and the United Nations Foundation.
This looks like a performance packed episode…we can’t wait!
