“American Idol’s” Crystal Bowersox almost quit

“American Idol” is one of our favorite shows, not just because we love hearing Simon’s harsh but true remarks, but because there’s actually good talent to watch. There’s always a couple of contestants that you watch and have a special soft spot for them. Single mom Crystal Bowersox is one of those. When she was taken to the hospital earlier this season, we were unsure whether she was going to be able to continue on her journey towards success. But week after week she has proven that she has the talent, karma, and individuality to potentially take home the top prize.

But now TMZ is reporting that the lead singer almost quit 2 weeks ago and if it weren’t for Ryan Seacrest’s pep talk, she may have been gone by now. Apparently after an “American Idol” show she was in the parking lot ready to storm off and told Seacrest that she couldn’t handle the pressure, the attention and stated “What’s the point?” She expressed how she misses her family in Ohio and just wanted to go back to be with them.

Seacrest made a quick comeback and explained to her that being on the show “was like starting a business, and if she won she’d get a recording contract and become a millionaire.” He then stated, “The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house.” And, apparently that was enough to reel her back in.

Idk of the chances you’d be reading this Crystal, but your music, and you sound, is the type of artist I want to be. You’ve given me hope that we, the people who strive to play what feels right to us, can still be successful, without losing our image. I beg you, don’t leave this show. You’ve been my inspiration as of late!

    Much love, T.D.

Stop whining Crystal and appreciate the opportunity you’ve been given that thousands, if not millions of other people would like to have. The money you will make from this opportunity will pay for more than a lifetime of working 12 hr shifts for minimum wage at some shopping mall….or gigging for tips in the subway.
