Donate your old camping supplies for Haiti at Coachella
This year at Coachella you can do more than just see bands, get a tan and have a great time. Now you can also donate your old camping gear at the end of the festival to help out the earthquake victims in Haiti. A Home in Haiti, Shimon Presents, and the Coachella Festival have teamed up to host a tent at the festival where concertgoers can donate their tents and camping supplies. The items that are collected during the festival will be shipped immediately to Haiti where the rain season has already begun and millions of Haitians are living underneath sheets. The tents will aid those suffering immensely and help give them a temporary home.
Tents for Refugees posted the following questions for you to ask yourself when considering to donate:
• Do you normally buy an inexpensive tent before a festival, then trash it rather than transporting it home? We’ll take it! Keep that out of the landfill and put it into needy hands.
• Did you just get a sweet new tent for the summer festival season? We’ll take your old one! Bring it along and leave it with us.
• Got a spare tent taking up space in a closet? If it keeps the rain out, dust it off and bring it to us!
We think this is an awesome idea to get everyone involved. If you aren’t at the festival and still want to make a donation or purchase a tent that will be directly donated to the cause, visit A Home in Haiti.
