Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” continues to lead Billboard’s Hot 100

Rihanna just came off a kick-ass performance on last week’s “American Idol,” which probably boosted her sales and put her back in the fan’s minds. Her first single “Russian Roulette,” which featured a dark portrayal of her physical abuse with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, didn’t get the spins the song deserved due to it’s slower melody and grim lyrics. Personally, I think it is one of her strongest songs that she has ever put out, and I was sad to see this one not do better. Following that she put out the single “Hard” and now is back with “Rude Boy,” which has become her sixth number-one in the United States.

According to Reuters, “Rude Boy” has once again toped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the fifth week in a row. Following up to Rihanna was Usher’s “OMG” single featuring will.i.am from “The Black Eyed Peas.” Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” dropped to number 7 on the list, but still holds strong within the top 10.
