Oprah biographer to dish on Detroit radio today

BY STAFF
Kitty Kelley hasn’t necessarily received the open-arm treatment from the media as she works to promote her controversial new book, “Oprah: A Biography.” David Letterman, Charlie Rose, Larry King and the ladies of “The View” are just a few of the folks who turned down opportunities to interview Kelley, for fear that they might land on Oprah’s bad list.

Well, Detroit radio host Warren Pierce isn’t scared of the Queen of All Media, so he’s having Kelley on his talk show today.

Kelley is scheduled for a call-in interview on “The Warren Pierce Show” on WJR-AM 760, according to the Detroit Free Press. Pierce will discuss Kelley’s book, as well as the media backlash she is experiencing.

Pierce’s producer, Rachel Nevada, told the Free Press, “Kitty Kelley’s book, ‘Oprah,’ and the media blackballing of the author, is one of this week’s most popular news stories and that is why we have scheduled her on the program.”

If you miss the show live, it’s likely Pierce will host audio of the interview on his Web site. And if major quotes come out of the interview, we’ll have them up on HollywoodNews.com.
