Rpattz playing Kurt Cobain would be “silly”, says Courtney Love

By Kim Palacios

Despite a flurry of speculation (dare I say hope?) caused by the U.K. based rag, The Sun, in its April 9th article, Robert Pattinson is unlikely to be offered the role of Kurt Cobain.  The late musician’s widow, Courtney Love, has dominion over the short list of candidates for the upcoming film portrayal of the Nirvana lead singer.  Fewer than three days after the Sun’s report, both Love and her reps balked at the idea of Pattinson playing the rocker.

Her manager, Jonathan Daniel, told Spin.com that he “isn’t sure [Love] knows who Rpattz is”.  Love herself later told Michael Oliviera of The Canadian Press that the notion of Pattinson playing the role was “silly” and “stupid”, citing Ryan Gosling or James McAvoy as her first choices.  A day later, after some said that Love’s reaction had been harsh, she softened her stance via her Twitter account; Love insisted that she had nothing against the brit, tweeting “i might dissPEAR AND HEY I LIKE R PATZ HES JUST NOT RIGHT FOR KC!”

But, don’t cry for Rpattz–his dance card is full now that a production schedule for “Breaking Dawn” is taking shape.  Slash Films reported that shooting will begin for back-to-back features in October of 2010.

Since Bel Ami’s wrap in Budapest last week (where Kristen Stewart reportedly joined him), Pattinson took a brief trip back to the U.K. before attempting a return to North America.  Volcanic ash woes notwithstanding, both Pattinson and Stewart are due back in Vancouver this week to shoot additional scenes for “Eclipse”.

Although Courtney was a bit harsh, I do agree that Rob would not be the most likely choice. And what’s this? Filming more Eclipse scenes? !! Don’t they know that film is due out in July come hell or high water?! What could they possibly be filming at this point!? One can only hope it’s more leg-hitch-ery.
