Alex Walton to join Exclusive Media Group

Nigel Sinclair, Guy East and Chris Ball, Co-Chairmen of Exclusive Media Group (Exclusive), announced today that Alex Walton has been appointed President of International Sales and Distribution at Exclusive Film Distribution, Exclusive’s international sales and distribution operation, commencing May 1st, 2010. Exclusive Film Distribution handles films from Exclusive’s production labels, Hammer Films and Spitfire Pictures, as well as third party pick-ups. Walton will continue to be based in Los Angeles, and will report directly to, Guy East, Chairman of Exclusive Film Distibution.

“We are excited that Alex is joining us to spearhead the next stage of our international expansion. He will be very actively looking to acquire third party productions as well as masterminding with me and Peter Naish our growing international sales and distribution operation” said East

“I am looking forward to being a part of the very ambitious plans that Exclusive have. They are a company that can operate as a sales agent and financier enabling them to be an extremely valuable partner to both independent producers and studios”, said Walton.

As part of Exclusive’s fast expanding international strategy, Peter Naish, previously Head of Sales, while continuing to run the European office in London, will take on new responsibilities as Senior Vice President of Distribution. “It has always been a key component of our strategy that we are not just a sales operation, but want to be an active supplier of mainstream commercial movies to our international distribution and co-production partners. Peter has extensive on-the-ground distribution experience, particularly with Hammer, and will be working even more closely with our partners to maximize their releases in all media. His expanded role is vital to our strategic growth plans” commented East. The London office will report to Walton.

Walton joins Exclusive Film Distribution from Paramount Vantage where he served as Senior Vice President of International Sales. During his 3 years at Paramount Vantage, Walton represented films from Paramount Pictures, Paramount Vantage and oversaw the distribution of Overture Films product in international territories. Prior to paramount, Walton was at HanWay Films in the UK where he was Director of International sales, handling such films as Woody Allen’s “ Match Point”, Milos Forman’s “Goya’s Ghosts”, Julian Jarrold’s “Becoming Jane”, Richard Linklater’s “Fast Food Nation” and Noah Baumbach’s “The Squid and The Whale”.

Currently in post-production for Exclusive is the hotly anticipated, “Let Me In” for Hammer Films and Overture Films, which is directed by Matt Reeves (“Cloverfield”) and stars Kodi Smit-McPhee (“The Road”), Chloe Moretz (“(500) Days of Summer”), and Academy Award nominee Richard Jenkins, “The Visitor.” Peter Weir’s “The Way Back,” starring Jim Sturgess (“21”), Academy Award nominee Ed Harris (“A Beautiful Mind”), Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (“Atonement,”) and Golden Globe winner Colin Farrell (“In Bruges”) is in post production for Spitfire Pictures. Also in post production is Hammer Films’ “The Resident,” starring two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank (“Million Dollar Baby”), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“Watchmen”), and is directed by Antti Jokinen.

Exclusive is ramping up several projects for production in 2010, which will be announced in the ensuing months.
