Adam Lambert prepping to take over Simon Cowell’s “American Idol” spot

Adam Lambert is last year’s “American Idol” runner-up, but it looks like we might be seeing him on “Idol” again. Just a couple of weeks ago he returned to the stage to mentor the contestants, becoming the first “Idol” contestant to come back to be a mentor. The second night he returned to the stage to perform his latest single, “Whataya want from me,” amidst and eye-capturing laser light show. There have been rumors swirling all over the web about talks of Lambert replacing Simon Cowell’s judge spot when Cowell exists next year, and it looks like everyday it’s becoming more of a reality.

National Enquirer reports that his performance last week made such an impression on the producers that he has jumped to the top of their list of people to replace Cowell. In addition, they report that an on set source stated, “Producers were totally bowled over by Adam’s on-target critiques and pithy comments. They believe he’ll bring a fearless, youthful freshness to the show. And let’s not forget, Glambert’s got real stage presence.”

We might continue to watch “American Idol” after Cowell leaves if Lambert is on set.

He should perform too! He should cover a song every week based on the week’s theme cos that’s the Adam we miss! Doesn’t have to be over the top even. Just something like what he did at Upright Cabaret will touch n impress ppl as many have not seen that side of him.

American Idol needs reinvention cos 9 years of the same thing has proven to be a bore, esp. since Adam left cos let’s face it, there will never be another Adam! Instead of a karaoke competition, they should add theatrics n acting too n they can produce a whole new generation of not just singers, but ‘performers’! There can be guest mentors but Adam should be a regular, if not permanent (if his schedule allows) mentor on the show since he is THE MASTER OF A COMPLETE SHOWMAN PACKAGE!!! He is a versatile chameleon n amazing singer n the whole world should know of his existence n witness his greatness!!

If that’s true that KUDOS to Adam Lambert!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is such a straight forward bloke and with his years of experience in the music industry he will be the perfect new judge!!

Glad to see that you’re getting your info from such a reliable source as the National Enquirer! Adam’s a singer and performer. Why on earth would he want to sit at the judges’ table for a show that isn’t likely to see another season?

Adam would be amazing. He would save the show. It would be a good idea to change the voting as well. AT&T would not have been able to skew the vote in Arkansas last year and coast Adam his title if not for unlimited voting. The voting should be like “Dancing With the Stars.” I would watch anything Adam is on because Adam Lambert is second to none.

If Adam Lambert is a JUDGE, I guarantee the International FANS would be estatic. I purposely tune in to watch ADAM LAMBERT in the episodes that he mentored and performed!! He would bring the show alive again. I hope it is true.

I really hopt this is true. I would love to see him on there every week. He has been singing since he was 10, so I think he would be a good judge. I don’t think it would stop him from his singing career either, because all of the judges do other things besides idol. I am keeping my fingers crossed for this.

I do not think Adam Lambert should be given Simon’s spot on idol to judge contestants after the sick performance as the AMA show!! Lambert was obscene on the AMA show so why would he be allowed to mentor anyone and to teach them how to entertain when he himself was shameful entertaining on live TV? This guy blew his 15 minutes of fame and should be blacklisted for indecency.

The AMA performances were not for children. Most of the songs on the radio are worse than lambert’s performance which pretty much all the performances that night were absolutely not for children. Adam was the last performer and I can see where he got carried away since the performaces before him, such as lady Gaga, set the pace for the type of performaces that night. Then of all things, jamie Foxx was a mentor and this guy told a kid, Miley Cyrus on national TV to take drugs and be a prostitute. This guy has a daughter did he tell his daughter to do the same?..Then more than half the songs to choose from are by artist that have been on major drugs and the Beatles were in a controversy for comparing themselves to Jesus Christ. it is the parent that has the power over their children to monitor what they watch. Idol prepares the contestants for the music industry and the industry is alot of trash you hear on the radio, so don’t blame one person. Blame the parent for allowing their children to listen to and watch what is not for children, So, give the AMA ordeal a rest and get to the facts. The fact is talent and as much as many want to ignore, Adam Lambert won even before the finals. Kris Allen is talented, but nowhere near talented and the performer as lambert is.

Hello! Adam Lambert was not last year’s American Idol. Kris Allen was voted the winner. An error like that blows any credibility you might have with this story.
