Britney and Jennifer Lopez want “Glee”
It’s not surprising that after “The Power of Madonna” episode of “Glee” had critics and audiences singing its praises this week, that several other singers are craving a moment on “Glee.” Both “The Back-Up Plan” actress and singer Jennifer Lopez and pop princess Britney Spears have mentioned their interest on being on Fox’s musical hit.
Britney Spears hopes yet again to follow in Madonna’s musical footsteps with a themed “Glee” episode. Britney’s manager, Adam Leber, put the idea into motion on Twitter, by writing “Do you guys want to see a Britney Spears episode of GLEE? Thoughts?” It became one of the highest trending topics of the day.
“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that he would consider an all-Britney music episode. “I’ve always loved her. I’m entertaining it,” Murphy said. “I think young kids would like that.”
Jennifer Lopez was closer to a deal with “Glee,” as she explained on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” She had been in talks with Ryan Murphy about a cameo on the show, but the timing just didn’t work out. “We want to. We want to do it but it doesn’t fit in,” she said.
This season, Neil Patrick Harris, Olivia Newton-John and Molly Shannon are all slated to appear on the show.
