Lindsay Lohan’s rising star looms as she exits “Other Side”
If being fingered by the cops for a missing $35,000 Rolex and dealing with her father Michael Lohan’s intervention tactics this week weren’t enough, TMZ reports that Lindsay Lohan was recently fired from her recent independent film “The Other Side” – a movie about a grad student working on a deserted island.
TMZ was told that Lohan wasn’t “bankable” and unreliable to work with. Meanwhile, the film’s writer/director David Michaels, a former consulting producer for 1983’s PBS station “Reading Rainbow,” exclaims that “Our team simply chose to move on from Lindsay and we’ll soon be announcing a replacement.”
But as the saying goes – as one door closes, another one opens.
Despite the blogsphere assault on the recent firing of Lohan, and good word has been emanating from director Robert Rodriguez –which has rubbed off on buddy Quentin Tarantino who has been exclaiming his support of potentially casting her in a future horror project– about the actress’ turn in the “Grindhouse” shoot-em up spinoff “Machete,” due out on Labor Day weekend.
In “Machete,” Lohan stars as April Benz, the socialite daughter of the film’s baddie Michael Benz (Jeff Fahey) who has a penchant for guns.
“The Other Side,” which is currently in pre-production has Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette attached to star. “Machete” on the other hand stars Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal, Jessica Alba, Rose McGowan and Michelle Rodriguez.
