“Twilight” scribe Stephenie Meyer casting for “Host” adaptation
Auditions are being held for a feature-film adaptation of “The Host,” a novel by “Twilight” scribe Stephenie Meyer.
As Hollywood tries to keep up with the runaway train that is the “Twilight” saga, Chockstone Pictures and Nick Wechsler Productions have snapped up the right to “Host” and have hired Andrew Niccol to direct. The Oscar-nominated screenwriter of “The Truman Show” also helmed “Gattaca” and “Lord of War.” He’s aiming to have “Host” in theaters in 2011.
Acting-Auditions.com says auditions are being held for the following parts:
Melanie “Mel” Stryder
Wanderer / Wanda
Jamie Stryder
Uncle Jeb
Jared Howe
Ian O’Shea
Kyle O’Shea
Principal actor casting will be held in Culver City, CA. For more details, click this link. Extras casting will be announced closer to filming date in early 2011.
If producers wanted to guarantee a hit, they’d hand juicy roles to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. But what do we know, right?

I can’t wait to see who is cast for the parts.
You are joking, right? There is no way they should give any role in this film to Robert Pattinson of Kristen Stewart. Not only are there no parts that would suit them anyway (most of the characters are last-twenty/thirty-somethings) but the less this film is associated with Twilight the better.
Fingers crossed about the casting though, and hopefully they won’t listen to all the people screaming for a CW-centric cast!
I couldnt agree more with Lauren… Its tottaly nonsense to have twilight stars on the host… I vote for Jensen Ackles to be Jared and Sophia Bush to be Mel… and I’d die to see Chris Evans as Kyle!!! Camila Belle -Melanie, Josh Duhmal- Jared, Sam Elliot- Uncle Jeb, with Chris and Liam Hemsworth for Kyle and Ian O’Shea…if you don’t know them check out Star Trek and The Last Song.
I agree with Samatha, about Mel. In my mind, mel just looks like she could kick a** and i dont think sophia bush has that look. and i agree with chris evans as ian^^ so love the sam elliot idea as jeb! i love him! and Jensen Ackles seems really good for jared. i hope they cast them, or some people that look and/or can act like the characters. i so dont want r-patz and k-stew as any of the characters. anyways, hope everything turns out good for this movie!!! crossing my fingers!!!

Just because The Host and Twilight are both written by Stephanie Meyer doesn’t mean ANYTHING!!! Kristen Stewart would F*** up that movie one of the main subjects of the book was that humans have a lot of emotion adn that was hard for Wanderer to keep control of!! Kristen Stewart is horrible at every single emotion!! Robert Pattinson is too Edwardish, he was an unknown actor before Twilight and now whenever people see him they think of Edward, he’s famous because his fangirls follow him around but either you love him or you hate him!! The Host IS NOT Twilgiht They would ruin the movie for me SO much!!!
