Kristen Stewart, Ewan McGregor sought for Sydney film fest

If festival organizers get their way, Kristen Stewart and Ewan McGregor will walk the red carpet for this year’s Sydney Film Festival, which takes place in June.

The Sydney Morning Herald writes that festival planners “are in talks” with both superstars and would like them to support films that are premiering at the fest, which runs June 2-14.

Stewart’s “The Runaways,” in which she plays punk rocker Joan Jett opposite Dakota Fanning as glam singer Cherie Currie, will make its Australian premiere during the annual event. (read our review of the film right here!) Souces close to the fest told the paper talks are being held to bring both Stewart and Fanning to the event.

McGregor, meanwhile, is expected to help promote Roman Polanski’s “The Ghost Writer,” co-starring Pierce Brosnan, Olivia Williams and Kim Cattrall.

Nothing could be confirmed at this time, so stay tuned for constant updates.

I can’t believe that the Sydney Film Fest is so hard up that they are trying to get Kristen Stewart. I know she says she is an actor but if you watch one of her movies you’ll know that’s a lie. She’s actually battery operated and if you forget to change her batteries she goes blank. Actually now that I think about it I realize nobody made sure she had batteries in any of her movies, that’s why she was so bad.
