Tiger Woods melts down on course, misses Quail Hollow cut

For only the sixth time in his career, Tiger Woods missed the cut at a golf tournament and will not compete in this weekend’s Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, N.C. Woods missed the cut by eight strokes after turning in a miserable performance that noted sports writers were describing as a meltdown and a total collapse.

“That wasn’t Tiger Woods out there Friday, not the golden one we’ve known for all these years, the one who hits all those miraculous shots and who has won 71 tournaments, including 14 major championships. What we saw was a man who looks like that Tiger, walks like that Tiger, talks like that Tiger but isn’t,” said golf writer Ron Green Sr. of The Charlotte Observer.

Was Tiger rusty? Unfocused? One of his former lovers, Joslyn James, was stripping at Charlotte’s Uptown Cabaret. Are appearances like that distracting to the once great golfer?

Woods will give it another go next week at the Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

In the meantime, he told Charlotte reporters, “At least I get the weekend to watch (TV) and see how it’s done, how real players play golf, and hopefully I can piece it together for next week and be ready to go.”

I think that Tiger returned to golf too soon. Tiger’s game is suffering big time and also his morale as well. It will be totally disastrous if Tiger continues playing badly and have a relapse as a result. Tiger needs to take time off from Golf to put his personal life in order. This is what Elin wanted him to do and what he initially said would do. I hope he does this soon for his own good.
