Kendra reflects on how being a Playgirl prepared her to be a mother

By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith

E! Entertainment Channel sensation Kendra Wilkinson tells us that her background as a Playboy mansion habitué has come in handy with her and hubby Hank Baskett’s five-month-old son, Hank IV. “Being that party girl of a couple of years ago, up all hours of the night – believe it or not, those days paid off,” she informs. “If I can be at a club ‘til four o’clock in the morning, I can get up and feed my baby at four o’clock.” Of course!

Even fortified with such wee hours know-how, the personality who rose to fame as one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends on “The Girls Next Door” admits that sometimes the stress of new motherhood and marriage shows. In her second season of “Kendra,” viewers have seen a lot of drama, she notes, and “more crying.” Still, “I have 95 per cent control over what is shot and what isn’t,” she points out. “I’m very hands-on with what is filmed and what isn’t. Knowing yourself and knowing what mood you’re in at the time is the thing, and you’ve got to know your character. Hank and I aren’t perfect people. We fight, you know, we get agitated. There are times when we do ask them politely, ‘Hey, do you mind if we shut down for a little while?’”
