Kristen Stewart attending the MET Costume Institute Gala and Exhibition: American Women

By Tracy Rosenfield

HollywoodNews.com: On May 1st, it was announced that Kristen Stewart would attend the annual Costume Institute Gala Benefit taking place on Monday, May 3 at the Met.  The event will be hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Patrick Robinson of the Gap, and Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue.

We already know that Kristen’s hair will be done by Frederik Fekkai stylist Renato Campora.  What we don’t know is whether she’ll wear it up to hide the still-there Joan Jett hair, or if she’ll wear it down and do something funky or sleek with her tresses.

However, the big question on everyone’s minds is what Kristen will wear.  This is a high-fashion gala and Kristen can do high fashion as easily as she can do jeans, a tee, and Chucks.

Kristen can take a few routes for the event.  She can go for the masculine-glam look, as seen in 2009 HERE.  This look could easily be pulled off by Kristen and she would rock it.  (Thanks to @Calliopeblabs for this photo recommendation).

Perhaps she wants to show off her legs like Selma Blair in THIS PHOTO, or go for a more elegant look like Renee Zellweger in THIS PHOTO.  She could always stick with perfection and go for a look similar to her Monique Lhuillier gown from the Oscars.

Or, maybe she’ll go with a simple cocktail dress as seen HERE.  This, I believe, is the look Kristen will least likely go for.

If I were a betting woman, I would say she’ll be wearing something similar-fitting to either Renee Zellwegger’s or Selma Blair’s dress.

No matter what she chooses to wear, Kristen Stewart will look fab.

I really can’t wait for tonight. I do find it telling that Robert Pattinson wasn’t invited. A few of Kristen’s co stars will there. Kristen is probably getting a Vogue cover this year. That will be so exciting. Still, no Rob. Don’t expect much love for him in the future. Hollywood still doesn’t think he’s arrived yet. He better try to act his butt off next to Christoph Waltz or it will be back to London for him. Also those in the know are saying that Bel Ami is awful, like straight to DVD bad. Keep us updated.

Nice Kristen! Have a wonderful evening, my dear.

@fashionistagoddess honey, you totally missed it. Kristen doesn’t need obssesed fans like you. Robert Pattinson is a HUGE star. Brad Pitt is not invited, does it mean he is a B-lister? Please. Use your brain.

Bel Ami is on his way to Cannes, and the release date is December. Initially it was April 2011 but, you know, there is a little event call The Oscars, and strangely enough people in the industry think maybe BA has some chances. Have a nice May 🙂

Kristen will be a stunner per her usual hot scorpion venom, and I predict her humanity will also shine through. It’s a dichotomous and versatile charm she has and this event will be another venue to enchant us. Renato Campora and Marchesa will drape and curl Ms. Stewart artfully, though I expect Kristen will wear the style rather than the style wearing her – that’s her signature after all, whether a feminine sculptural affair, a casualness or a fashion edge she’ll be inspiring. No pressure… This is her event. Though I’m certain her entourage would be welcomed it’s healthy and sane for her to attend to her own future and career; which, judging from erratic Twifans may be Eclipsed by certain cameos of certain friends at this gala. That’s a regretable circumstance, but more importantly: Bravo Ms. Stewart! Vogue, The Met and Oprah are lucky to have your attention, and we are fortunate fans too!

Correction: hot off the rumor mill Kristen Stewart will be in Chanel Haute Couture this evening! Whee!

Oh my gawdess! This will rock. I can picture a masterpiece silk ballgown with exquisite craftsmanship and combat boots or nods to street style. Le Sigh. Sorry for my gushing fangirl stilo – I can’t help it. SO perfectly imperfect. I always wanted to see Kristen in Vivienne Westwood, but this is my top 2 fashion fantasy. Squeal.

Anna Wintour is my Vogue maven genius now. I have to thank her for my re-intro to Vogue. My grandma had a subscription and now I will too. Hello world, I am fashion relevance rocked! I think I’m having a high fashion Vogue/Stewart spazz attack. How did that happen?
