The classy distance “Sex and the City 2” fans are willing to go
Star Wars fans dress up as their favorite characters and wait days in line for the franchise’s new films – even though the 20th century created advanced ticket services such as Moviefone and Fandango.
However, “Sex and the City”-philes don’t have time to waste. They have a bit more class and in London are renting entire cinemas to watch the upcoming May sequel with their fellow “Sex” sisters.
According to The Sun, theater chain Everyman Cinemas already has taken several bookings.
A source told the newspaper: “Tickets aren’t on sale yet so people are booking private screenings. Some are corporate clients but others are groups of friends.”
Special packages throw in cocktails and bonus episodes from the TV series are even being offered. Everyman said: “We get calls every day.”
Meanwhile, according to the Los Angeles Daily News, “Sex and the City 2” is ranking in the top five ticket presales on Fandango.
Says the company spokesperson, “Females do tend to plan seeing female-skewing films more in advance. Guys just show up when they feel like seeing a movie.”
