By Staff

“Die Hard” lives again to see another day.

“Hitman” screenwriter Skip Woods is in talks with Fox to pen the next installment of Bruce Willis’ blue-collar protagonist John McClane. The plot is being kept under wraps.

Woods has a reputation for co-writing several action and superhero projects, i.e. “Swordfish,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and the upcoming “The A-Team,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

Collectively, the “Die Hard” franchise has generated $1.13 billion at the global box office. The film’s previous sequel, “Live Free or Die Hard” arrived in theaters 12 years after its third chapter making $383.5 million worldwide.

Upcoming Willis’ projects include Sylvester’s Stallone’s “The Expendables” – in which there’s a scene between the two ‘80s action titans and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger – as well as Summit’s action film “Red.”
