JLo: Affleck affair was doomed from the start
HollywoodNews.com: Jennifer Lopez admits that her relationship with Ben Affleck was bound to collapse, no thanks to the paparazzi storm that the couple endured.
JLo started dating Affleck in 2002, giving birth to such box office misfires as “Jersey Girl” (in which she had a cameo and Affleck starred) and “Gigli” – a film which made less sense to critics than “Ishtar.” At least “Ishtar” had the blind camel comical moment going for it.
But that’s what happens when you give your g.f. a rather oversized pink diamond – you draw attention.
Lopez confesses, “I love Ben. He’s a great guy but it was a lot for both of us to be under that type of siege for two years straight. We were on the cover of every magazine every week, and it was just a weird thing that the media catches on to, and they just go crazy with it. Our relationship, I think, did suffer from it.”
Wonderwall watched her interview with U.K. TV host Graham Norton.
JLo credits her husband, Latin singer Marc Anthony with teaching her how to balance fame with her personal life.
“I think, when you’re in the throes of (fame), you don”t realize that you have control over it. You kind of feel like, ‘Oh, it’s just happening, I can’t stop it.’ But he taught me that you can,” says JLo on Anthony whom she married in 2004.
