“Twilight” finale, “Breaking Dawn,” gets confirmed release date

By Sean O’Connell
Circle this date on your “Twilight” calendars, fans. The final chapter in the saga, “Breaking Dawn,” will open in theaters on Nov. 18, 2011.

Bill Condon will direct, as previously reported. What isn’t clear yet is whether the film will be released as one film or broken up into two chapters, a la the final Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Summit Entertainment declined to elaborate on the “Twilight” release plan, according to HitFix.com. Of course, series stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will return. The new release date means, as of right now, “Breaking Dawn” will open next to “Happy Feet 2” and “Real Steel,” a sci-fi thriller starring Hugh Jackman.
