Muse confirmed for first single on “Eclipse” soundtrack

By Kim Palacios

© Hollywoodnews.com: Finally! Details about the “Eclipse” soundtrack! The first single will be a track by Muse. This news comes via Stephenie Meyer’s official web site which announced the news today.

Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole”, from the “Twilight” soundtrack turned out to be an enormous hit with fans. Played during the wildly popular thunderstorm baseball scene, it is one of Muse’s most loved songs.

The new single, a song called “Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)”, comes out for general release on May 17th. As part of the “Eclipse” movie compilation, it will not be available until the entire soundtrack drops on the 8th of June.

Meyer’s webmaster, Seth, commented that Muse is “Stephenie’s very favorite band” and that she is “very excited” about the choice. Given Stephenie’s role as producer of “Breaking Dawn”, this could foreshadow the appearance of more Muse on the soundtrack of the final film.

Other details about the soundtrack still remain obscure, but this early news is better than nothing. The soundtrack is available for pre-order on Amazon.com if you’d like to secure a copy now.

“…it is one of Muse’s most loved songs.” I wouldn’t say that. 😉
