By Hollywood News Staff

Hollywoodnews.com: Beatle-mania plans to hit the screen again as Revolution Films plans to produce Richard DiLello’s memoir “The Longest Cocktail Party”’ about the band’s shenanigans at the Apple record label.

News follows on the heels of Robert Zemeckis’ January announcement to remake the Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” in 3D motion-capture.

Revolution Films is headed by producer Andrew Eaton and director Michael Winterbottom. The duo are attempting to entice buyers and sellers with the project next week at the Cannes Film Festival market.

DiLello was in the thick of the Beatles scene during his PR days at Apple according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Revolution Films has a reputation for developing music biz material. The firm produced “24 Hour Party People” about Factory Records and the Manchester wave of bands.

One of the ‘90s films about the Beatles that is often overlooked is the U.K. film “Backbeat” starring then “Twin Peaks” starlet Sheryl Lee. “Backbeat” centers around the band’s pre-fame era in Hamburg, Germany.
