“Lost” to air three alternate endings on Jimmy Kimmel

Hollywoodnews.com: Will Team “Lost” be able to stick the landing?

One of the least enviable tasks on the entertainment radar has to be writing a suitable conclusion to “Lost” that will satisfy most of the hit television show’s rabid fans. I say “most” because there’s simply no possible way that the ending, which we’ll see on May 23, will please everyone, and the show’s shepherds know this. “We resigned that we won’t satisfy everybody, said executive producer Damon Lindelof in a recent interview, “so it became about satisfying ourselves.”

And now ABC announces that “Lost” will have three chances to please fans — and itself — with alternate endings that will be broadcast immediately following the finale on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost” special.

“Lost” stars Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Alan Dale, Jeremy Davies, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn and Harold Perrineau will join Kimmel live, while co-stars Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly will make special appearances.

The special will air immediately after the finale, beginning around 12:05 a.m., ET on ABC. And during the program, Kimmel will screen three alternative final scenes from the minds of executive producers Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

Will they be serious endings? Or because they are airing on Kimmel, will they be humorous takes on the “Lost” finale? No one know for sure. All we know is that we’ll be watching.
