Kristen Stewart: Her look throughout the years

By Tracy Rosenfield Kristen Stewart was a tomboy as a kid. Even in her adult life, her dress outside of the limelite is jeans, a T, and perhaps some Chuck Taylors or Vans.

Her style rocks no matter what she wears. But, for this post, let’s take a look at Kristen’s promotional and red-carpet style, which is KStew fab.

Though the date of this picture is unknown, we can safely assume KStew was under the age of 2. This, right here, is a star in the making.

Do we see the start of Kristen’s career at this young age? This picture is before her 2002 breakout role in “Panic Room”, but look, she’s holding a mic!!

Now we’re getting closer to the “Panic Room” age, where it all begins…but, we’re still a few years shy.

And here we are – the age when Kristen hits her breakout role in “Panic Room”. She definitely has a tomboy look about her. Though she still has tomboy-ish looks and mannerisms on occasion, there is a distinct difference between this Kristen Stewart and the Flaunt Kristen Stewart.

Jump ahead to 2004 when Kristen has another starring role in “Speak”. Already we can see her jumping way ahead of her years, playing a young teenager who is a victim of sexual assault. She’s still rockin’ the tomboy look.

In the same year as “Speak”, Kristen hits the big screen with “Catch that Kid”. Notice her hair is growing out. She’s starting to break out of the tomboy image.

BAM! There’s a lady. At the “Fierce People” premier in 2005, Kristen is sporting lovely long locks, a bit of lipstick….the future of KStew has emerged!

This look continues with “In the Land of Women”

Let’s jump ahead, shall we, to the premiere of “Into the Wild” in 2007. The gorgeousness is now full-blown. Nothing is going to stop KStew and her flawless skin. You can already see the maturity in her eyes, at a mere 17 years old.

At the MTV movie awards in 2009, Kristen is again flawless, with a little bit of a rocker edge. She wore Chuck Taylors with her dress, a KStew staple, but ironically she wore them for a twisted ankle.

Kristen continues with the rocker look at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards with a look (and skirt) that could kill. Her hair is chopped for her Joan Jett role, but she pins it up beautifully.

At the “Twilight” premiere in 2008, Kristen moves to a more demure look with entrancing eyes. It’s evident now that Kristen can move seamlessly between tomboy, rocker, glam and sexy…and pull them off equally well.

Skipping ahead to the “New Moon” premiere at the end of 2009, Kristen is definitely Oscar-ready in this beautiful gown. Though her hair is still a slight mullet, she curls it just right to give it a soft, feminine look that pairs nicely with her makeup.

Kristen is sleek and sexy in Madrid, promoting “New Moon”. She pulls this look off as comfortably as she does jeans and a t-shirt. Again, she is flawless.

Kristen is all glam here in a Monique Lhuillier gown for the Oscars in March 2010. She’s comfortable, relaxed and definitely elegant.

And like that – Kristen pulls double duty with both a rocker and sexy look at once! Everything here is sleek – makeup, hair, dress. Again, flawless skin and showing off her mile-high legs, heightened even further with platforms. Kristen can wear anything, anytime.

I cannot wait to see what she wears for her upcoming Eclipse promotions!

wow, I can’t believe how sensitive people are about shags vs. mullet. Sorry honies, I get Joan and Kristen were pulling business in the front and party in the back!

    She’s born to be a star……

Sorry Nina Honey- There is a big difference between a shag and a mullet Joan and Kristen had a shag. Joan Jett might cut you if she heard you refer to her signature cut as a mullet. Mullet are super close and cropped in front with long hair in the back. A shag has jagged layers throughout, while the layers in the front are naturally shorter than those in the back it is my no means cropped as close to the head as a mullet.

iIlove her looks. So natural . This poor girl got so much abuse for that mullet hair from crazy fans that is almost sad. Lovely gal.

She looks perpetually aggravated, rude, snarky and just plain bitter. Very unlikeable.
