Matt Doyle gives advice to victims of bullying

By Greg Hernandez

Matt Doyle, a talemted young actor who starred on Broadway in Bye Bye Birdie and played Eric van der Woddsen’s boyfriend on Gossip Girl, has shared a deeply personal story on his blog that I hope will be widely read.

Here are some excerpts:

DON’T CALL ME MICHAEL is a children’s chapter book about bullying, friendship, and forgiveness. It is an excellent book that can be used to start classroom discussions about issues facing our students. It would also be a great book to make into a movie. Matt Doyle would make a great “Michael”. This book, released by Tate Publishing in December of 2009, is available from Tate Publishing, from the author, or at Amazon.. Author Joyce Holton Crawford has visited elementary and middle schools to talk about her book, and also to discuss the writing process, and the road to becoming a published author. You can contact Crawford at teachcraw@hotmail.com.
