The Top 10 – Out-Of-Left Field Choices to Host SNL In the wake of Betty White’s strong performance last Saturday, here’s a look at 10 other unusual hosting candidates who could deliver mega-ratings, and get a much-needed PR bounce of their own! Please scroll down.

10. Eliot Spitzer

Picture 1 of 10

Believe it or not, it’s already been more than two years since Spitzer resigned as Governor of New York after it was revealed that he had cheated on his wife with a prostitute. In recent months, the man once dubbed “the sheriff of Wall Street” has begun to emerge from seclusion to share his views about the financial crisis on Sunday morning talk shows. Having received the forgiveness of his wife and children; demonstrated a willingness to be self-deprecating about even the most embarrassing details of his scandal in interviews and a new documentary; and fueled speculation that he may once again seek elected office in New York (most likely comptroller), an appearance on “SNL” would go a long way towards winning back some of the public favor that he lost in 2008 and would need to win another election in the future.
