Up close and personal with Nordstrom’s “Eclipse” collection

By Kim Palacios

No one gets it like Nordstrom. If you’re a Twilight Saga fan in the throes of “New Moon” and “Eclipse”, little is more important than pledging allegiance to your team. Like the 2009 line, recently-released previews of Nordstrom’s Twilight wares for 2010 show plenty of “Team Edward” and “Team Jacob”. Yet, the collection goes beyond this focus, offering more hot makeup and more cute designs, and other ways to show your support on your chest. Here are a few of my faves:

‘Team Cullen’ zip-hoody in heather grey, $52. Though the movies thus far have focus on the love triangle among Edward, Bella, and Jacob, Stephenie Meyer’s books (and, hopefully, the “Eclipse” movie) have given more attention to the Cullen family. Many fans of Twilight are less preoccupied with the trifecta as they are with secondary characters like Carlisle and Alice. These characters (and the actors who play them) have been hugely popular with fans. This hoodie is a great piece for showing “good vamp” support!

Luna Twilight Duwop ‘Blush’ Lip Venom, $16. Not quite so bold as last year’s blood red lip venom, this year’s blush color lets its wearer show a softer side. Certainly, it is intended to remind us of Bella’s much-noted blush. Given the summer release of “Eclipse”, it’s also season-appropriate.

Knit ruffle miniskirt in grey, $32. Another piece that’s right on time for summer is this cute little miniskirt. My favorite feature is the little string tie near the waist. Whereas last year’s fashions were more oriented toward styles the characters themselves might wear, pieces like this show a shift toward pieces that can be better-appreciated by stylish fans.
