Twilight author Stephenie Meyer invites four fan sites to attend press junket

By Kim Palacios

“I want to do something different with publicity for this movie release,” opened Stephenie Meyer in the self-penned posting on her web site today, contrasting the approach she took promoting “Twilight” (a normal press junket) and “New Moon” (an exclusive Oprah show interview). “For Eclipse I want to focus on the more specific questions of the readers. To accomplish that, I’m hosting my own mini-junket with a few fan sites.”

To achieve this, Meyer (literally) picked the names of four fan sites out of a hat. Indeed, her official site shows pictures of a paisley-lined fedora full of candidates as well as a close-up of the four she picked. The lucky winners are Twilight Series Theories (www.twilightseriestheories.com), Twilight Source (www.twilightsource.com), Twifans (www.twifans.com), and Letters To Twilight (letterstotwilight.wordpress.com). In her posting, Meyer invited each site to reach out to her and arrange logistics with her assistant; two members of each site’s staff are welcome to attend the event.

The “mini-junket”, as Meyer is calling it, will be held on Friday June 18th, a week before the red carpet premiere of the film. Unsurprisingly, Meyer’s posting opens the door for fans to ask about her post-Twilight series novella, “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner”, which is available for pre-order and is scheduled for release on June 5th.

So, if there’s something you’re dying to know that the traditional press would never ask, reach out to one of the four chosen sites. This fan-centric event may be your one-and-only shot to get your question answered.

    Dear Stephenie,

I really like your books, I’m getting ready read Eclipse. I want to know why you ending New Moon, with Edward asking Bella to marry him? Its so confusing, but your books are always going to be good. The best one so far is Eclipse, well that’s what I have heard. I hope there will be more books afrer Breaking Dawn. But if there is not anymore, I will still be happy, because everyone will still have the other books to read over and over again. And once I reread the books, I always find something new or different , that I havent caught before.

But the best part about Twilight is that when Bella moves and goes to a new school and she finds out that a group of people(well that’s what she thinks what they are), named the Cullens. And after she has been picked up by Edaward and he takes her to a restruant and Bella asks how he stopped the van from crushing her. Then she asks how he knew where she was, and he told her that he can read minds but hers. Then after they get done at the restruant, Edward takes Bella home, she wanted the radio in the car, they both go to reach at the radio and she touches his hands, and his hand was frezzing cold. So she went home and did some research and that’s when she finds out that all the Cullens are vampires, but friendly and she found out that they only suck anmials blood.

And the best part in New Moon, is that when Edward had to leave her, because the other people started to see that Charilse was too young for his age and they and had to move and work and go to school some where else. And then after he left Bella started to have nightmares, then that’s when Jacob starts to get into the book. And that’s when Bella and Jacob started to hang out with each other, and Bella started to love Jacob. Then when Bella really started to love him is when Alice came to her house and told her that Edward is going to kill himself, because Alice had a vision that Bella jumped off a cliff and thought she was dead(wich was true, that she jumped off a cliff and then Jacob saved her). And she went with Alice to go stop him from showing himself because the other vampires that kill and suck humans blood, refused to kill him. And of course Bella saved Edward from showing himself to the humans just in time before a little girl shows her mom that she seen a glowing body.
