Madonna’s Raising Malawi charity received $1 million for personal appearance

By Roger Friedman

HollywoodNews.com: AmFAR: that’s the celebrity studded fundraising group for AIDS research. When Dr. Mathilde Krim started it over 20 years ago. AmFAR was alone and a pioneer in bringing the plight of AIDS and HIV to the world.

Two years ago Madonna made an appearance here in Cannes for AmFar’s annual “Cinema Against AIDS’ dinner. Madonna was in town to promote her self-important Africa documentary. She’d never been to Cinema Against AIDS before. Sharon Stone, as usual, was the emcee and auctioneer. Madonna–who has not donated money to AmFAR at least through her charitable Ray of Light foundation–auctioned off a couple of handbags she owned, a signed guitar, and some miscellaneous items from the stage, even some used tissues.

For her time, and the publicity, this column has now learned that Madonna received an in-kind donation to her then brand new Raising Malawi charity, of $1 million.

Raising Malawi was started in 2007 as an arm of the Kabbalah Center in Los Angeles. The group is busy inculcating Malawian children with Kabbalah curriculum. Says one former Kabbalah Center member: “They’re very good at going into poor countries and getting a foothold.”

Madonna work in Malawi is wonderful. She helps more than 10.000 orphans and creates a school for young woman.

We can only admire her huge commitment to this good cause.

Madonna is an authentic woman with a big big heart.

Hi, As I know, Madonna is busy not as for her young doghter or young dancers only. She had wish magicly to “katch” an actor sylvester Stalone, but was “killed” by a leedership of greet Lithuanian magican Marina Dasenko. Sorry.

I wonder how much of a kickback the old harpy gets from the kabbalah organization.

Madonna is too smart.. When Gaga tryes to “fight” with Madonna, Madonna “killed Marina Dascenko in a magic (Olialia company Lietuva)… But, according to the aliens info – Marina came into relationships with Stewen Spielberg (one hour before).
So may Gaga’s “aliens theme” was the reason..?:)

So Madonna has nothing to say about the gay couple in Malawi who were just convicted of 12 years hard labor (remember when she was a gay champion/icon?) Just so she has no resistance in continuing to further her cult? She is no champion to the causes of Malawi. Leave those poor kids alone; they don’t need some kooky mysticism cult to add to their problems.
