“Shrek Forever After” eyeing $100 million opening weekend

HollywoodNews.com: “Shrek Forever After” is the last installment in the Shrek series and while the film has been getting mixed reviews, that isn’t stopping Paramount from expecting a grand opening. The film opens Friday in theaters and is the first in the series to play in 3D format.

The predictions are hoping that the film could roll in $100 million through Sunday, according to Reuters. The production costs on the film are estimated around $135 million, so a big opening weekend is exactly what the film needs.

Despite the low reviews, you can bet that fans are going to want to see their favorite Ogre on the big screen one last time.
