Twilight Saga’s Chaske Spencer to be MTV International correspondent for 2010 MTV Movie Awards

By Kim Palacios

HollywoodNews.com: The 2010 MTV Movie Awards will already be deep in Twilight Saga stars, given the nominations of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Anna Kendrick for awards in various categories as well as the nomination for “New Moon” itself, which is a contender for “Best Movie”. Adding to the list of Twilighters who have confirmed participation in the June 6 event is Chaske Spencer, the actor who plays Sam Uley in “New Moon” and subsequent Twilight Saga films.

As reported by MTV UK, Spencer will serve as the red carpet international correspondent. So, what, exactly is such a correspondent on the hook to do? In a nutshell, it will be Spencer’s job to emcee the event for fans around the world. Targeted versions of MTV (e.g., MTV Denmark, MTV Arabia) air to movie fans in regions around the world. It will be Spencer’s task to bring fans watching from overseas into the fold.

“I am thrilled to be MTV’s international correspondent for the MTV Movie Awards this year as part of the MTV At The Movies’ special. Being that the Twilight Saga has a worldwide fan base, it will be great to reach everyone while I am right in the heart of it all,” MTV quotes Spencer as saying.

Though U.S. fans are unlikely to see Spencer’s broadcast unless they look it up online, most are thrilled to hear about the development.
