More Cullen backstory to feature in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”

By Kim Palacios

hollywoodnews.com: It had been rumored before, and recent credible sources have been able to confirm it: we’ll be seeing much more of the family Cullen in the film rendition of “Eclipse”. Though fans of the book understand the importance of the family to the culmination of “Breaking Dawn”, there was doubt that some backstory would be realized on film. Recent news, however, has been encouraging. We now have specifics on some scenes that will take place. Better yet, confirmation has come from reliable sources—of late, the actors themselves.

During Nikki Reed’s interview on The Ellen Degeneres show last week, fans saw a previously unreleased clip that gave unprecedented insight into her character, Rosalie Hale. “I don’t hate you,” opens Rosalie during a tense conversation with Bella. “I don’t particularly like you, but…Bella, I envy you.” Said Reed also in an interview with Saturday Night Magazine of new scenes dealing with the Rosalie character and her iconic beauty, “It opened up all these questions about what beauty is. It really stressed me out for a long time. It made me more aware of my insecurity”.

Jackson Rathbone also interviewed (separately) with Saturday Night Magazine, for whom he confirmed that we will be seeing more of his character. “Yes, we get to see Jasper back when he was a human which was back in the Civil War.”

Yet, the most universally confirming interview came from the Los Angeles Times, which spoke to all Cullen actors (ex Edward, who was in Europe filming Bel Ami at the time). “This time around, you get to see their true vampire-ness,” reported Peter Facinelli , on- and off-screen patriarch of the Cullens.
