Nicole Scherzinger is the star to dance away as a champ

Hollywoodnews.com: Pussycat Dolls leading lady Nicole Scherzinger became the new champ of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday night in its long-awaited season finale.

Along with her partner Derek Hough, she out-pegged Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek and his dancing mate, Anna Trebunskaya.

Both Scherzinger and Lysacek floored judges with their respective tangos. The winner was determined from a formula of judge scores and viewer votes according to the Washington Post.

Joining the season’s finalists were past contestants, i.e. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin who donned a space suit, which host Tom Bergeron quipped was from “the NASA Liberace collection.”

Also Jake Pavelka and Shannen Doherty showed up to cut rugs.
