Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton talk “Prince of Persia” sequel

Hollywoodnews.com: There’s always a chance of a sequel with a Jerry Bruckheimer production and in the case of this weekend’s opening film “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” consider Jake Gyllenhaal and femme co-star Gemma Arterton already signed up.

“I loved being a part of the movie. It is an incredible world, so if that were an opportunity, I would definitely take it,” Gyllenhaal tells the Press Association.

Gemma, in her interview with MovieWeb, exclaims, “We made it two years ago and I feel refreshed. So if they wanted to do another one, which I’m sure as it is hinted at (towards the end of the film) that there are many different avenues that it can go down.”

When Arterton signed, there was an expectation that “Prince of Persia,” like its videogame source, would be played out into a cinema franchise. “They have not spoken about what the story would be,” she says.

But that hasn’t stopped her from making suggestions to Bruckheimer.

“The games themselves there were all these different lands that they visited, so now I’m putting in all my suggestions to Jerry and I’m like, ‘Beaches maybe? Maybe the tropics so we get to go somewhere nice and hot?'” she quipped.
