Miley Cyrus is out of tune with “Glee”

Hollywoodnews.com: Lady Gaga and Madonna love “Glee,” but not Miley Cyrus.

The 17-year old exclaims, “Honestly, musicals? I just can’t.”

Hmmm, a little grump Miley that the cast hasn’t sang your songs yet? “Glee” has arguably covered not one Broadway tune in its first season on Fox, preferring to rip from the great Americana pop music cannon. So, technically, the “Glee” cast doesn’t sing musical tunes, rather radio hits of today and yore.

Cyrus further gripes to Billboard via Showbiz Spy: “What if this was real life and I was just walking down the street on Rodeo Drive and all of a sudden I just burst into song about how much I love shoes?”

Cyrus has recently decided to distance herself from the “Hannah Montana” franchise in an effort to mature her music to a broader fanbase.

Snob! She thinks she’s better than everyone else! Seriously, the “Glee” casts can sing a lot better than her!

i wish that miley cyrus will go on glee so that i will have an excues to watch it ans miley cyrus is my fav ever and i can’t wait to see it

I agree with your post, but Glee has covered plenty of Broadway songs such as “On My Own”, “Don’t Rain On My Parade”, “Defying Gravity”, “Rose’s Turn”, “I Dreamed A Dream”, and “Funny Girl” just to name a few. They also do songs within the show that aren’t always put out as singles, such as “Cabaret” and “Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat”, again, to name a few. More would be great, but I don’t see how you have an argument against them not covering one Broadway song.

It does sound a bit snobby but i doubt she said it moody.
I agree with Miley. Musicals are stupid. What if i was sitting in class then started singing ‘i dont know how to do this’ its just…strange.

Miley Cyrus, sorry to say is so full of it. She has the balls to say that she just isn’t into musicals but she was all for promoting High School Muiscal and saying how great it was, and wasn’t that a musical?

That’s why I hate these bubble wrrapped Disney teen idols. Most get famous and have no real talent and then have the balls to bash other shows/ perofrmers as if they’re better or something

No, they’ve sang “On my Own” for Les Miserables. Miley just sucks.

    @Anna, YESS!

Musicals aren’t stupid, “I Agree”. Don’t even get me started.

Miley is just mad that Lea Michele, who plays Rachel, impersonated “The Climb” perfectly (watch the clip of it on youtube). 🙂

With so many schools no longer offering Fine Art courses I think it is so important for a show like this to exist. No, we don’t suddenly burst into a song in real life, but this show is bringing back an interest in music that no other program,(Save the music) or any other show or movie(High School Musical) has been able to do. Bravo Glee and keep up the good work. Music is just as important as Math and Science and should stay in schools!!! Miley Cyrus is just a little jealous teenager who would suddenly change her mind if they decided to do a Miley Cyrus episode. I hope that Glee never sinks to that level.

This article annoys me. I mean, someone didn’t do their research. Glee did The Climb, though it was only for a few measures, and Glee did at least two Broadway songs in the first half of the first season. The second half (which is still the second season) has already seen at least two Broadway songs as well.

    I don’t even… whatever.

****Second half, which is still the FIRST season, is what I meant to write.

She’s just pissed off because her song was the only one that they purposely and hillariously butchered on the show. Her ego is hurt. Simple as that. Now if they did a Miley Cyrus tribute show (god, no) then she’d be all praises and smiles.

erm miley, you do burst out into song and sing about how much you loe shoes in most of the hannah craptanna episodes anyway. Maybe not while walking on the streets or chatting to youre mates but all i’m sayig is, if you did aactually do exactly what you said while actuallywalking on the street, i can totally picture you doing that because you are the kind of selfish brat that would do that. Miley is the unrealistic one and is the kind of girl that lil’ kids shouldn’t follow. i think miley is being unrealistic because she’s just dissing something that is much bigger than her and she should stfu.

i agree with @kyle. lea michelle did sing the climb much better than her and has got the voice to fit the song perfectly. She should get a life because everyone on that show is much mre talented than her. she’s a jelouse little teenager who should grow up.

  • May 30, 2010 | Permalink |

If miss Cryrus had actually watched the show she’d realise that they donm’t just burst out into song in the classroom. They’ll be on stage or in the rehersal room (if a scene is in the corridor its usually just conveying what they’re feeling inside) Its like how Chicago does it. Ignorance goes along way sometimes me thinks.

  • May 30, 2010 | Permalink |

lol i totally mis-spelt Cyrus whoops

  • May 30, 2010 | Permalink |

she’s jelouse and thinks she’s better than everyone else. Miley thinks she’s all that when to be perfectly honest, she’s so NOT. She’s trying to be older than she really is and lea sang the climb much better than her. Everyone in glee is better than her, better at performing, better at entertaining an audiience, and can actually sing! unlike miss. Cyrus here, who thinks it’s just a dumb, unoriginal, nrealistic, musical kid’s show that she would never have the guts to do. If she did watch the show, she’s begin to see that the show isn’t a musical, and she could learn something from the show because i watch the show every week and i’ve seen miley cyrus perform before and the kid’s in glee, actually have talent unlike her. she’s a spoilt little brat who should keep her mouth shut!

  • May 30, 2010 | Permalink |

Everbody in Glee sings much better than her.
    And… She don’t sing good,in true.

  • May 30, 2010 | Permalink |

I Don’t see why people waste time on Glee. All ur doing is sitting their watching a room full of adults ruin good songs. “Jesse’s Girl” , “Gives You Hell” , and “Halo” are a few titles to name. Seriously, that’s a waste of time. So I guess I am jealous of their success as well. NOT. And MC only promoted HSM cuz she had a cameo in the 2ND film. DUH.

  • May 30, 2010 | Permalink |

@DANNY, it’s MISS SPELLED, not MISS SPELT . And two: Not everyone is a fan of musicals okay? Get with it.

  • May 31, 2010 | Permalink |

Gosh, is she THAT upset that Glee ruined her song?!?! She should be thankful Lea didn’t pwn her a** with that song!!!

  • June 3, 2010 | Permalink |

wooww what a dumb b**ch glee doesnt randomly burst into songs that they create themselves!!! they cover popular songs from now and in the past! i dont care if you have your own opinion on things, thats totally fine, but at least get your facts straight jay-z is not pop music and glee is not a musical, and didnt she go around saying how highschool musical is awesome?
whenever she opens her mouth and says words she just sounds dumb
