Katy Perry is in a bad romance with Lady Gaga

Hollywoodnews.com: Coke vs. Pepsi, Burger King vs. McDonalds — now it’s Katy Perry vs. Lady Gaga.

The gloves have come off in pop diva wars. In the wake of Gaga raising the bar with her shock antics onstage, Christina Aguilera has postponed her concert and issued a letter to fans exclaiming that she means no harm to Gaga.

Now, Katy Perry, former Christian Rock crooner, has slammed Gaga on Twitter over her new “Alejandro” video.
“Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke,” Perry tweeted about the video’s homage to anti-Catholic Madonna themes.

And this coming from a girl who sang about kissing a girl…and liking it. Perry walks a fine line between her religion and kinkiness. Her “California Gurls” video touts a cupcake bra that sprays frosting, yet she is proud of her Christian roots, as both her parents are pastors.

“I was raised in a very pseudo-strict religious household where the only thing on the menu was [gospel standards like] ‘Oh Happy Day,’ ‘His Eye Is on the Sparrow’ and ‘Amazing Grace’ … all eight verses of it,” Perry told MTV News, “So the New Kids on the Block are new to me now; they’re not a comeback. I’m like, ‘Oh, this is a cool song!’ I missed out on a couple other things, but I’m catching up.”

Earlier today, Perry hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “California Gurls,” becoming the first Capital Records artists in 43 years to do so. Single rose 2-1 in its fourth week on the chart and has sold 318,000 downloads. “Gurls” is Perry’s second No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following “I Kissed a Girl” which topped the No. 1 spot for seven weeks in July 2008.

I think they are really jealous of each other. I don’t know why Gaga cares so much though, she is so much more talented.
