Twilight’s “good girl” Christian Serratos poses for June issue of Maxim

By Kim Palacios The Angela Weber character in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga is portrayed as kind, gentle, and shy. She is written as the daughter of a preacher, shown in the films as beautiful but un-self-aware, and lacking confidence during almost every speaking part in which she’s shown. Yet the image of Christian Serratos, the actress who plays Weber, could not be farther from that of her character. The latest proof? A sexy photo shoot featuring risqué pictures of 19-year-old Serratos in the June issue of Maxim magazine.

Unlike other Twilight actors (such as Kellan Lutz and Kristen Stewart), who have likened their real life selves to the characters they play, Serratos and Weber stand in stark relief. Anyone who has paid attention to Serratos off-screen has observed an effervescent energy and a keen sense of style. She is photographed with flirtatious hair, full lips, and fashions that leave little to the imagination. Though she doesn’t come off as vixen-like as she does in her shoot with Maxim, the real life Serratos works her sexy, at times coming awfully close.

The Maxim spread features Serratos in swimsuits and lingerie, flirtatiously playing with the bubble gum in her mouth in one shot and sensually eating a strawberry in another—doing everything one would expect from the magazine’s format. The interview portion finds Serratos talking about her fear of knives, her first date, and first kiss. She also talked about her Twilight-themed nude photo shoot for PETA.
