Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone band, 100 Monkeys, announces more tour dates

By Kim Palacios

hollywoodnews.com: June is buzzing with news of where the Twilight stars will be and when, and fans are clamoring for opportunities to meet them. Yet, savvy fans have long known that Cullen actor Jackson Rathbone is most easily found on tour with his band.

100 Monkeys was recently named one of 2010’s breakout bands to watch by Rolling Stone, which called the band’s music pleasantly “spazzy” and “energetic”. The band spent a good part of 2009 and early 2010 playing smaller venues across the country, and will return on tour in upcoming months on the following dates:

Tuesday, July 20 Hermosa Beach, CA – Saint Rocke
Wednesday, July 21 Phoenix, AZ – Martini Ranch
Thursday, July 22 Las Vegas, NV – Wasted Space
Friday, July 23 San Diego, CA – Salvation Alley Stage @ HOB
Sunday, July 25 San Francisco, CA – Great American Music Hall
Wednesday, July 28 Portland, OR – Doug Fir
Thursday, July 29 Seattle, WA – Showbox SODO – Lounge
Friday, July 30 Vancouver, BC – Venue TBD
Monday, August 2 Fresno, CA – Starlite
Tuesday, August 3 Reno, NV – Club Underground
Wednesday, August 4 Sacramento, CA – Venue TBD
Friday, August 6 Los Angeles, CA – Viper Room

“The hundredth monkey effect generally describes the instant, paranormal spreading of an idea or ability to the remainder of a population once a certain portion of that population has heard of the new idea or learned the new ability,” reads the band’s web site in explanation of its name. Indeed, the fresh, fun approach to its music, live shows, and interacting with fans has had a viral effect.
