“Thor” co-character Sif captured in lo-res screen grab

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: This is what it has come to? Freeze-framing “Entertainment Tonight” puff pieces to get our first, blurry look at secondary characters in anticipated summer blockbusters?

It would appear as such. This morning at ComingSoon.net, they have screen grabs that reportedly show us the first, unofficial look at Jaimie Alexander in Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” adaptation, based on the popular Marvel Comic. Alexander has appeared on the TV shows “Bones,” “Kyle XY” and “Watch Over Me.” Click here for all of the lo-res goodness.

Sif, for those who don’t know, is an Asgardian warrior and Thor’s lover. Since most of Branagh’s film allegedly takes place in Asgard — where Thor resides with the gods — it would make sense that Sif would play a crucial part of the story.

Now, this might not be Sif. It could be another Asgardian preparing for battle. But until Marvel Studios releases some hi-res character shots, this is all we have to go on.

“Thor,” which stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins, will be in theaters on May 6, 2011.
