‘The Fabulous Beekman Boys’ on their new series

By Greg Hernandez

HollywoodNews.com: During the TV Critics Press Tour in January, I chatted up a couple of terrific guys named Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge at a cocktail party and tasted some of the cheese they made on their farm.
So who the heck are they?

They are The Fabulous Beekman Boys, of course! These gay city boys bought an estate and farm in upstate New York and found themselves the focus of a primetime docu-series on Planet Green which premieres tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

Sounding something like a gay version of Green Acres, the series promises to be a funny and irreverent peek into the world of this fish-out-of-water couple who are reviving a farm in upstate NY in order to create a new organic lifestyle brand, ‘Beekman 1802’.

The series, produced by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato’s World of Wonder, uncovers how the couple’s city slicker skill-set doesn’t mean much when it comes to wrangling pigs and making goat’s milk cheese.
