The Top 10…Movie Sequels

HollywoodNews.com: It’s been the summer of sequels — “Iron Man 2,” “Sex and the City 2,” “Step Up 2,” “Toy Story 3,” “Twilight 3,” “Shrek 4,” and the list goes on. But if one were to judge only by this year’s crop, one might conclude that a film frachise can only get worse with each additional installment. Some of us, though, still remember a time when the opposite was true, which is why I’ve decided to use this week’s “Top 10” list to share my personal list of the best movie sequels (limited to second films) of all-time…

Nine years is an unusually large amount of time between a film and its sequel, but it was well worth the wait for those who couldn't get enough of Richard Linklater's charming, intelligent, but spoken-for characters Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy). Nine years after the two first met one night in Vienna, they happen to cross paths again in Paris, leading to another all-too-brief (or not?) encounter.
